Your cat curls up inside, and the rope rim is the scratcher.

Evenings, they doze by your elbow.
They wake, stretch and dig into the rope.
Now the sofa arm isn’t the only thing to claw.
It looks like a woven basket, not cat furniture.

Choosing a size
Go by weight and how your cat curls up. Bigger isn’t better. Small: 13.8 in across (35 cm), kittens and small cats up to about 9 lb (4 kg) Medium: 15.7 in across (40 cm), up to about 16.5 lb (7.5 kg) Large: 18.1 in across (46 cm), up to about 22 lb (10 kg) Measured outside, ears not counted. Sleeps stretched out? It’s a curl-up bed.
Settling in
Give it time, and keep it where your cat already naps. Rub a pinch of the included catnip into the rim. There’s no cushion, so fold in a worn blanket that smells like home. Not every cat reacts to catnip, so the spot and the blanket matter most. Some cats climb in on day one. Others need time, and a few never do.
Arrival and care
It arrives flat and relaxes into its round shape once you unpack it. Tracked, and delivered within 12 business days of your order. Included: the basket with its rope ball on a cord, and catnip. Any new-rope smell fades after airing it out. Hand wash with mild soap and let it air dry fully. Don’t put it in the washer or dryer.

Tuxedo cat reaching onto a caramel rope cat basket bed by the sofa in the evening, someone reading by lamplight

For the cat who walks past the post and goes for the couch.

The bed they nap in. The rim they scratch.

Set it at the foot of the sofa arm they always go for.

Catnip included with every order

Why rope, and why right by the couch.

Brown tabby cat in a caramel rope cat basket bed at the arm of a linen sofa, mug and book on the side table

4,331 cat owners surveyed.

Rope was the surface their cats used most when offered.

In the same survey, cats with more kinds of scratchers at home scratched the furniture less.

We can't promise your cat will never touch the couch again. We can give them a better place right next to it.

Wilson et al., Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, 2016.

Nap, stretch and scratch in one spot.

They curl up in the middle to nap.

When they wake and stretch, the rope is right under their paws.

If your cat ignored the last bed

Three small steps to make it theirs.

Cats nap and scratch where they already spend their time, so start there.

Blue-gray British Shorthair sitting in a caramel rope cat basket bed on a window seat, looking out of the window

Put it where they already are.

Beside the couch arm or the window they watch from, not in a spare room.

Hands rub catnip into the rope rim of a caramel cat basket as a Bengal cat sniffs, someone cooking behind

Rub in the catnip.

A pinch of the included catnip, worked into the rope. Catnip on a scratcher can draw cats to use it more.

Hands fold a worn blanket into a caramel rope cat basket beside a sofa as a calico cat sniffs the handle

Add something that smells like them.

Fold in a blanket they already sleep on.

Not every cat reacts to catnip, so the spot matters most. Some cats climb straight in. Others need time, and some take to the bed before the rim.

A basket you'll want on show.

A bed, a scratcher and a toy, in the spot they already like.

Flat lay on a dining table: a caramel rope cat basket bed with the rope ball, loose dried catnip and a coffee mug

What arrives.

The basket, its rope ball attached, and catnip.

Caramel, gray and green rope cat basket beds on a dining room sideboard, a cat curled in the caramel one

A basket, not cat furniture.

Cat-ear handles, and three colors you'd leave out for guests.

Tabby and white kitten swatting the rope ball of a small green cat basket by the front door

A ball to bat at.

It's attached to the rim on a cord.

Rope a claw can grip.

Coiled cotton rope, right where the claws land. A softer scratch than sisal.

When one basket isn't quite enough.

Ginger kitten curled snug in a small green rope cat basket at night, an empty medium caramel basket waiting beside it

Two sizes: one for now, one for later.

Many kittens are ready for the Medium before their first birthday. A Medium today won't feel snug yet, so it waits.

Black cat curled in a caramel rope cat basket bed by the sofa, a second caramel basket waiting on the window seat

One cat, two favorite spots.

One by the couch, where you sit. One on the window seat, where they watch the street. Hand wash one and let it dry while they nap in the other.

Three cats from above, each in their own rope cat basket bed: small green, medium gray and large caramel

One for every cat.

Some cats share happily and some don't. Give each cat their own, sized to fit.

Two baskets come with our 3-in-1 Cat Steam Brush as a gift. Three add a HyperChase LED ball too.

Questions, answered plainly.

Will it stop my cat scratching the couch?

We can't promise that. It gives them somewhere better to scratch, right beside the couch arm, in rope: the surface cats used most in the survey above.

Will my cat sleep in it or scratch it?

Often both, though not always in that order. Some cats sleep in it first and find the rim later, and some mostly sleep in it.

Is cotton rope a good scratcher?

It's a softer scratch than sisal. Cats can dig in and pull, but heavy scratchers may still want a tall sisal post as well.

I have two cats. Can they share one?

Some share happily and some don't, so one each is the simple answer.
