User-Generated Content Policy

At PawKitty, we love seeing cats explore, play, and enjoy our products in their own unique ways. Photos, videos, and stories shared by our community help other cat owners understand how PawKitty products are used in real homes.

This policy explains how user-generated content (“UGC”) submitted to PawKitty may be collected, used, and managed.

What Counts as User-Generated Content

User-generated content includes any content voluntarily submitted to PawKitty through our designated UGC submission page, or shared with PawKitty through approved campaigns or social media interactions.

Examples include:

• Photos of cats using PawKitty products
• Videos demonstrating product use
• Pet lifestyle content featuring PawKitty products
• Stories about your cat and their experience with PawKitty products
• Social media content submitted as part of PawKitty campaigns
• Entries submitted to PawKitty photo contests or community campaigns

Content may be submitted through:

• The PawKitty UGC submission page on our website
• PawKitty social media permission requests
• PawKitty community campaigns or contests

Eligibility to Submit Content

To submit user-generated content to PawKitty, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Own the rights to the content you submit
• Have permission from any individuals appearing in the content, including parental or guardian consent for any minors who appear in submitted content

By submitting content, you confirm that you meet all of these requirements.

Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you submit. However, by submitting content to PawKitty, you grant PawKitty a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, display, distribute, and create derivative works from the content across any media format, without time limitation.

Submitted content is not confidential. By submitting content to PawKitty, you acknowledge that it may be shared publicly and that PawKitty has no obligation to treat it as proprietary or confidential information.

Submitting content to PawKitty does not create any employment, contractor, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between you and PawKitty.

How PawKitty May Use Submitted Content

Submitted content may be used by PawKitty for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to:

• Display on the PawKitty website and product pages
• Educational guides or blog content
• Social media posts and community content
• Email marketing campaigns
• Digital and paid advertising campaigns
• Print materials and marketing assets
• Community campaigns and brand storytelling

Content may be used commercially and worldwide, without time limitation. PawKitty is under no obligation to use, publish, or feature any submitted content. Submission does not guarantee publication, and no compensation is owed for submission or use of content unless explicitly agreed in writing.

Editing and Adaptation

To ensure consistency with our brand and presentation standards, PawKitty may:

• Crop or resize images
• Edit captions for clarity or length
• Use excerpts from longer submissions
• Combine content into galleries, compilations, or marketing materials
• Apply minor visual enhancements or formatting edits

These edits will not intentionally change the meaning of the original submission.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any moral rights or rights of a similar nature that you may have in submitted content, including the right to be identified as the author or to object to modifications. This waiver allows PawKitty to edit, adapt, and use submitted content freely in accordance with this policy.

Artificial Intelligence and Content Processing

Submitted content may be processed using automated tools or artificial intelligence systems to support content moderation, image organization, content recommendations, product personalization, marketing optimization, and training of internal recommendation or AI systems. Content may also be used to improve PawKitty’s digital services and user experience.

Social Media Permission

From time to time, PawKitty may request permission to use publicly shared social media content featuring our products. Permission may be requested via a comment, direct message, or designated campaign hashtag.

If you respond affirmatively to a PawKitty permission request — whether by replying, commenting, or using an approved campaign hashtag as directed — this constitutes your consent to use of that content under the terms of this policy.

PawKitty will not use publicly shared social media content without first obtaining permission. Submitted content must also comply with the terms of service of the platform from which it originates. PawKitty is not responsible for any violations of third-party platform terms arising from a submitter’s own actions.

Influencer and Gifted Content

If PawKitty provides free products, discount codes, or any other compensation in exchange for content creation or sharing, recipients are required to clearly disclose the material relationship in any content they publish. This includes disclosures such as #ad, #gifted, or #sponsored, or equivalent language that is clear and prominent to viewers.

This requirement applies to all platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and any other public channel. Failure to disclose a material relationship with PawKitty may violate FTC guidelines and applicable advertising standards.

PawKitty reserves the right to decline further collaboration with any creator who does not comply with disclosure requirements.

Content Moderation and Community Standards

To maintain a safe and positive community environment, PawKitty reserves the right to reject or remove submitted content that includes:

• Harassment or abusive language
• Graphic or disturbing imagery
• Animal cruelty or unsafe pet handling
• Illegal activity
• Spam, fraudulent submissions, or content submitted through automated or bot-assisted means
• Copyright violations
• Misleading product claims

PawKitty reserves the right to disqualify or discard submissions that appear to be fraudulent, duplicated, or submitted through automated means, without notice.

Pet Safety

The safety and wellbeing of pets is important to PawKitty. Content that depicts unsafe behavior with animals, improper use of pet products, or situations that could endanger pets may be declined or removed at PawKitty’s discretion.

Campaigns, Giveaways, and Photo Contests

From time to time, PawKitty may host community campaigns, photo contests, or promotional events. By submitting content as part of these campaigns, you agree that the content may be used by PawKitty in accordance with this policy, including in marketing materials and promotional campaigns. Specific campaigns may include additional terms communicated at the time of the campaign.

Attribution

When possible, PawKitty may credit content creators using information such as first name or social media username. However, PawKitty is not obligated to provide attribution in every instance.

Content Storage and Retention

Submitted content may be stored in PawKitty’s systems for future use or archival purposes. PawKitty may retain submitted content indefinitely unless a removal request is submitted and approved.

Requesting Content Removal

If you previously submitted content and would like it removed from active PawKitty materials, please contact us at hello@pawkitty.com. Please include your name or username, a description or link to the content, and where it appears if known.

We will review removal requests and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that removal of content from active use does not retroactively affect materials already published in print, emails already delivered, or archived marketing assets. PawKitty’s license to use previously published content in those formats remains valid notwithstanding a removal request.

Copyright and Ownership Warranty

By submitting content, you confirm that:

• The content is your original work or you have the rights to share it
• The content does not violate copyright, trademark, privacy, or any other rights of any third party
• Any individuals appearing in the content have given their consent, and where minors appear, parental or guardian consent has been obtained
• PawKitty’s use of the content in accordance with this policy will not infringe on any third-party rights

PawKitty reserves the right to remove content or decline submissions if ownership or permission cannot be verified.

Indemnification

By submitting content to PawKitty, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PawKitty and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your submitted content, your breach of this policy, or any claim that your content infringes the rights of a third party.

Limitation of Liability

PawKitty makes no representations or warranties regarding the use, storage, or publication of submitted content. PawKitty is not liable for any loss of content, failure to publish, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in any UGC program or campaign. PawKitty’s total liability in connection with submitted content shall not exceed the amount paid by you to PawKitty in the six months preceding the claim, if any.

Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from this policy shall first be addressed by contacting PawKitty at hello@pawkitty.com. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Wyoming.

Relationship to Other Policies

This policy should be read together with PawKitty’s Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, which explain how PawKitty handles personal information and governs use of the website.

Policy Updates

PawKitty may update this policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or community changes. The most recent version will always be available on our website. Continued submission of content after updates constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
